Open all doors in Oslo, Autumns here!

In Norway social and cultural life is slowly returning to life as we used to know it. We're not quite hugging yet, but we are seing an increase in allowed audience attendance.

This summer we've had a successful Summer concert series here in Oslo, and now we are looking forward to a week of Oslo Jazzfestival with us at Nasjonal jazzscene being one of the venues. Their fabulous, 35th anniversary program is found here: https://oslojazz.no/.

The following week, the 11th Blow Out! Festival is celebrating all things improvised and genre pushing. Over the course of four days you'll hear new music and constellations curated by the best jazz travel agency in town, their program is found here: https://www.facebook.com/blowoutoslo/

Our own Autumn program kicks off 1 September with a brand new band of old acquaintances. SKRIM is Morten Qvenild, Stian Westerhus, Ståle Storløkken and Gard Nilssen and sounds just as fabulous as that line up says it will! This is also the release party for their first album, which is an impressive journey of friction and flow, energy and darkness, joy and rot. Here is fun and professionalism coupled perfectly, with great songs balancing on both edges of beautiful.

Up until Christmas we'll have close to 80 concerts with Norwegian greats like Mathias Eick, I.P.A., Warped Dreamer, Krokofant, Marius Neset with Bergen Big Band, Paal Nilssen-Love - Circus, Maria Kannegaard Trio and Ellen Andrea Wang's gigantic double bass orchestra! You'll also be able to hear international bands like Makiko Hirabayashi Trio, Trio Tapestry feat. Joe Lovano, Marilyn Crispell & Carmen Castaldi, Bobo Stenson Trio, Ambrose Akinmusire Quartet, Dominique Fils-Aimé, Carsten Dahl Trio, Bill Frisell Trio, Sheila Jordan & Cameron Brown, Manu Katché & Eric Legnini, Julian Lage Trio and Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog.

There's much fun to be had this coming season, find our program here https://nasjonaljazzscene.no/, and we'll hope to see you!
