NUEJAZZ Festival 2025 Nuremberg – Award-winning, innovative, cross-genre

From October 17 to November 4, Nuremberg becomes the stage for one of Germany’s leading jazz events: the NUEJAZZ Festival 2025. Recently honored with the German Jazz Prize 2024 as Festival of the Year, the festival brings cutting-edge, genre-blending jazz to the city.

The 2025 edition highlights Berlin as a Vibrant Jazz City, spotlighting its role as a creative hub where jazz meets electronics, hip-hop, performance, and new music. In collaboration with the German Jazz Prize, many nominated artists will perform — among them Andromeda Mega Express OrchestraLander & AdriaanPeter Gall QuintetSera KaloJelena Kuljić with her Berlin based formation Fundamental Interactions ft. Olga Reznichenko as well as the trio Nebbia Downs Lisle with their project "Exhaust".

International guests such as the Bill Laurance Trio (UK), US duo Knower (Louis Cole & Genevieve Artadi), and interdisciplinary pianist Sharon Mansur broaden the perspective. Another program highlight: Bilal — a commanding voice whose sound fuses deep-rooted soul, funk, and jazz with futuristic, electronic, and abstract influences.

The festival also champions emerging artists with the NUECOMER Jazz Award and invites families through NUEJAZZ for Kids and celebrates diversity with formats like Sonic Interventions. Festival director Frank Wuppinger sees the venues — from Meistersingerhalle to Z-Bau — as spaces full of character and urban charm. The grand finale on November 4 features electronic legends Kruder & Dorfmeister.

Jazz is alive, diverse — and more relevant than ever.
