NEW JAZZTALENT ON THE UPSWING !

CÉCILE McLORIN SALVANT has been getting rave reviews for her new album "For One To Love" aswell as for her live performances going on in Europe right now

1) CÉCILE McLORIN SALVANT (USA)
G/A/Lux, Eastern Europe

2014 Grammy Winner McLorin Salvant
may have the deepest roots of any singer of her generation. She knows the sounds and styles of modern jazz but also possesses complete command of the classic blues and early American vocal tradition.
The last 24 months have been a whirlwind of success and acclaim for the young vocalist, who first came to the attention of jazz fans with her triumph at the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. WomanChild went on to earn a bevy of honors, including a Grammy nomination and selection as Jazz Album Of The Year by the DownBeat International Critics Poll.

That magazine also honored McLorin Salvant in three other categories including Best Female Jazz Vocalist. A few months later, the Jazz Journalists Association selected McLorin Salvant as Up-and-Coming Jazz Artist Of The Year and as Top Female Vocalist. NPR also took, honoring WomanChild as the Best Jazz Vocal Album Of The Year in its annual critics poll. In short, no jazz singer of recent memory has garnered up more honors more quickly than Cécile McLorin Salvant.

Now she releases her follow-up Mack Avenue album, For One To Love, a more intimate and confessional project that reveals new dimensions of this young vocalist’s artistry.

2) NEW! LAKECIA BENJAMIN (USA)
Europe

Charismatic and dynamic saxophonist/bandleader Lakecia Benjamin, who has played with Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, The Roots and Macy Gray, takes center stage in her own right with her first release of her unconventional soul/funk album, RETOX, on Motéma Music. High Octane funk and soul for the hip-hop generation.
Lakecia Benjamin’s electric stage presence and fiery sax work  bring the soul and funk up to a fever pitch in a show that’s guaranteed to keep crowds dancing day or night.
Though her own music is immersed in the vintage sounds of James Brown, Maceo Parker, Sly and the Family Stone and the Meters as well as classic jazz, Benjamin's soaring, dance floor-friendly grooves take the classic vibe to a whole new level.
