Introducing Music Meeting’s new artistic director Miriam Brenner

Miriam Brenner has been part of the Music Meeting team since February 2025. With her extensive experience in the international music world and her passion for adventurous music, she brings a fresh perspective to our festival. Since her start she has been focussing on 2026 and beyond, amongst others developping a new (indoor) festival format, bringing the festival back to the city centre of Nijmegen.

A familiar face at Music Meeting
To many, Miriam is no stranger. Between 2009 and 2013 she was already involved in Music Meeting Festival and played an important role in our international programming. Since then, she has worked as a programmer at Festival Mundial in Tilburg and Amare in The Hague and guided international talent with her own agency Kokako Music. She has also been committed to the visibility of female artists for years and is a much sought-after advisor, speaker and jury member at WOMEX and IDFA. Since 2025 she is also participant in the Keychange Talent Leadership Program together with 41 other women from the industry.

"Music Meeting Festival is a festival close to my heart, so it's super nice to be back. I have great memories of it and know how special it is as a meeting place for artists and audiences. I am enormously looking forward to using my experience and inspiration to further grow the festival, explore new perspectives and share music from rich cultures in special ways." - Miriam Brenner

Onwards to Music Meeting 2025!
From June 7 to 9, Music Meeting Festival will take place in Park Brakkenstein, Nijmegen. For three days, the park will - one last time - be dedicated to groundbreaking music and special encounters.

During this edition special attention is paid to music from South Korea, a/o with drummer and artist in residence Sun-Mi Hong

In addition the festival offers space to young talent and musical discoveries from all over the world, such as Barencia from Spain (EJN Green Pilot Tour), the Mongolian vocalist Enji and the Dutch collective De Niemanders. Renowned artists with new projects are also welcomed back, such as Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino from Italy, the Finnish master-accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen and the Cameroonian bassist and singer Richard Bona with guest vocalist Ntjam Rosie. Together with Nijmegen music venue Doornroosje, we present Manu Chao at a special opening night on June 6.

In collaboration with Performing Arts Fund NL and Buma Cultuur/inJazz, we welcome a dozen international presenters to experience Music Meeting, and especially the Dutch artists.

See full program on www.musicmeeting.nl. The 2025 program is curated by Martyna van Nieuwland, guest curators Sun-Mi Hong and Jung Hun Lee, and interim programmer Marieke Meischke.
