For more than 50 years, this unique scene for jazz and improvised music has been a regular musical event in Umeå. Over the years, this cultural and innovative center in the north of Sweden has produced the highest yield of jazz musicians in our country. It also holds one of the most excellent Jazz Clubs - Umeå JazzStudio.
During the festival days, most performances will take place at the venue of Umeå Folkets Hus. At the JAZZ LAB stage, you can enjoy experimental jazz. At the APPLE CLUB you can eat, drink and enjoy shows performed by a variety of jazz groups. In FREJA JAZZCORNER, you can find top bands from the region of the North. STUDIOJAZZ gives you an intimate international club atmosphere while at the SOUNDGARDEN, we introduce visionary musicians in a close-up and personal format. The IDUN THEATRE is the main stage of the festival and gives you the possibility to hear both international legends and brand new stars. Come and share some magical moments as you indulge in great jazz and improvised music.
