Call for composers

 

 

On the 21st of January the six finalists for B-Jazz International Contest 2016 will be anounced.

In the meantime the Composition Contest B-Jazz 2016 is launched: Sabam for Culture and B-Jazz organize this contest in search of new jazz themes.

The winner receives a money prize of 2 000 euros and the winning composition will be interpreted and performed live by the finalists of B-Jazz International Contest on the 18th and 19th of March 2016. The best interpretation will be rewarded with another prize.

CONTEST RULES

  • This contest is open for participants of all nationalities born on or after the 1st of January 1986.
  • Each participant can send in only one composition/theme.
  • The composition should be entered as a score (maximum three pages long), accompanied by a (demo) recording of the composition (MP3 quality or better).
  • The compositions will be judged blindfold. Therefor there can't be any (links to) personal data on the score, so no names, signatures, ..., only the title of the composition.
  • Each participant provides (in an e-mail) the following information: the title of the composition plus the personal data of the author (first name, last name, full address, date of birth, phone number, e-mail address and a copy of an ID).
  • The winner will be invited to be a jury member for the next two editions of this composition contest.
  • Members of the jury are not allowed to participate in the contest.
  • The deadline to send in entries is the 15th of February 2016.
