Description:
After two years of absence, Jazzdor is finally back in Berlin... and in Dresden, that's new!
This year, from June 7 to 10, Jazzdor will offer many discoveries, three premieres of Franco-German projects including the exceptional project of Killing Popes with Marc Ducret and Claudia Solal as very special guests, the unprecedented meeting of Florian Weber and Michel Portal, the quintet of Julia Kadel which is enriched by a brand new line-up.
Kamilya Jubran's voice and oud alongside Sylvain Cathala's trio, the Gamelan Puspawarna with Wassim Halal's darbouka will take us to other worlds.
More than ever, this programme goes in search of the Other, helping us to recognise ourselves in the face of another ourselves. The project "Baldwin in transit", created in Strasbourg in November 2021 and revived in Berlin this year, also questions these questions of otherness by staging three poets from the American diaspora living in Paris who revisit the literary thought of James Baldwin set to music by four of the most creative musicians in jazz today.
That's it. Welcome and bon voyage for this new edition of Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin-Dresden which continues to weave strong links from one city to another, from one country to another!
