It is hard to imagine the Swiss jazz scene without the remarkable voice of Marianne Racine, who hails from the north of Sweden and has been living in Zurich since 1984. Time and again she turns up with her own, special projects, such as the duo Tuliaisia with pianist Vera Kappeler, the piano-less quintet «Racine, Rhythm & Horns», or recently the A-Cappella project «StimmFolk», in which she turns to the local repertoire. A long time ago she once performed with the ZJO, otherwise concerts with large line-ups are rare. The ZJO finds it is high time to hear Marianne Racine again in such a context. The songstress, who teaches singing at the Zurich University of the Arts, will interpret classic hits such as «Blues In The Night» and «Passion Flower». Musical Director: David Grottschreiber.
