Theo Croker

As the grandson of trumpet legend Doc Cheatham and a former student of Donald Byrd, trumpeter, producer, arranger, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Theo Croker is an artist steeped in jazz tradition. His latest project and album release – Star People Nation (Masterworks/ DDB Records) – is his most personal project yet, described by the Financial Times as modern jazz with a club culture edge, and by Croker himself as an intimate exploration into ‘the everyday rituals of blackness’.
