On all fronts of militant orality in the lineage of the great beat poets, Mike Ladd, at once rapper, slammer and songwriter, extends the extent of his territories even further by combining the bitter lyricism of his voice with the inventive and traveling guitar of Mathieu Sourisseau. Between the blues, demantibulated through the prism of improvisation, and noisy folk, the two men mix the intimate and the political in a project as minimalist as it is universal.
