It is by imagining an improbable "prepared guitar", a sort of mutant hybrid linking baritone guitar, cello and drums, through a subtle play of hammer and pedals, that the Sardinian guitarist Paolo Angeli really found his voice. Always on the line between avant-garde and popular traditions, his singular music opens up unexpected and intensely poetic territories between imaginary folklore, minimalist pop and free music.
