Film: Sounds & Silence – Travels with Manfred Eicher

To celebrate the 50th jubilee of ECM, a matinée film about ECM co-founder and musician Manfred Eicher will be shown. A film by Peter Guyer and Norbert Wiedmer, «sounds and silence» is a musical roadmovie about the passionate way of a musical fanatic. An extraordinary journey through sonic worlds, biographies and to important locations with mit Manfred Eicher, the prominent producer of contemporary music. We make stops in recording studios, at concerts, in back rooms and at route boundaries and encounter musical greats such as Arvo Pärt, Dino Saluzzi, Jan Garbarek, Eleni Karaindrou, Anouar Brahem, Gian Luigi Trovesi, Kim Kashkashian, Nik Bärtsch, Marilyn Mazur and many more.
