Previous editions: 2016 European Jazz Conference in Wroclaw

On 22 September 2016, the 3rd European Jazz Conference started in Wroclaw, Poland. Over a weekend full of debates, showcases and networking opportunity, leading professionals from the creative music and jazz sector met and discussed about the future of the music sector, and the way people listen in contemporary societies.

The European Jazz Conference 2016 was co-organised by Europe Jazz Network (EJN), the National Forum of Music and Jazztopad Festival, took place in the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2016 programme and it was supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland and by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

The theme of 2016 was "LISTEN UP!". The concept of listening was approached on different angles, from listening to your community/audience when you are an artist or a presenter, to the issues of social inclusion in cultural work within our rapidly-changing societies and to the way in which listening as a personal experience has changed in modern concert halls and with new streaming technologies.
