Description:

Yes, we are Emcee Artist Management.  No, we don't manage hip hop artists.  Emcee (the noun) means "a master of ceremonies".

Liz Penta began working in the music business in 1990 at the legendary New York rock club CBGB's.  With a background in fine art, she was asked to curate exhibits at CB's 313 Gallery.  Soon after she began, she was booking music in the Gallery as well.  In contrast to it's parent rock club next door, CB's Gallery was well lit, clean and spacious with a live room sound.  Under Liz's watch it became a home for the downtown music scene, performance art, acoustic bands, singer-songwriters, and experimental music alike.  In 1994 she left CBs to go on the road with the then fledgling band, Medeski Martin & Wood.  Shortly thereafter she became their manager.  In 1996 she formed Emcee Artist Management setting up shop in Tribeca, Manhattan.

Today Emcee is stronger than ever and growing with a diverse roster of artists and super talented staff.
