One of the best contemporary trumpet players, Miroslav Hloucal, created a quartet with the legend of Czech jazz piano, Emil Viklický. Three generations of musicians will meet on the stage, as the band is completed by double bassist Josef Fečo and young drummer Martin Fečo.

Miroslav Hloucal is a well-known trumpet player on the Czech jazz scene. He is also a composer, arranger and great studio recording artist. He masters all kinds of music genres. During his studies at the J. Ježek Conservatory and High School in Prague, he began collaborating with the leaders of the Czech jazz scene, including Emil Viklický, Roman Pokorný, Karel Růžička, Matěj Benko, the Gustav Brom Big Band and others. He was also lucky to meet world legends such as Benny Golson, Harry Sokal, Hiram Bullock and others on stage. At present, the Quartet has trumpet player and composer Miroslav Hloucal as a new project. The music of this group is original, mostly written by Miroslav Hloucal. It mixes the influences of modern mainstream, elements of free jazz and leans towards the hard pop tradition

Emil Viklický is a leading Czech jazz pianist and composer. Since returning from the US, Viklický led his quartet formation, performing first under the name Czechoslovak Jazz Quartet, later under his own name. However, he has performed with the Lou Blackburn International Quartet in a number of European and non-European countries. He has intensively collaborated over the long-term with Jarmo Sermilä, a Finnish composer, trumpet player and synthesizer player. In his work in the 1980s and 1990s, Viklický continued to successfully strive for a fusion of folklore with jazz. In addition to recordings with the world's leading jazzmen, including trumpet player Joe Newman, pianist James Williams and guitarist Bill Frisell, he has increasingly focused on contemporary music compositions (eg CD "Homage to Josip Plečnik", released on the occasion of the Plečnik exhibition at Prague Castle). He is also the author of three operas.

Project MIROSLAV HLOUCAL & EMIL VIKLICKÝ QUARTET
One of the best contemporary trumpet players, Miroslav Hloucal, created a quartet with the legend of Czech jazz piano, Emil Viklický. Three generations of musicians will meet on the stage, as the band will be joined by double bassist Josef Fečo and young drummer Martin Fečo.
The music of the quartet consists mainly of the author's repertoire of both main protagonists, as well as the compositions of jazz greats - the so-called standards. The whole concert will be in the spirit of modern jazz and mainstream jazz.
