EJC2023: Cultural Tours

You will find here below the 3 tour options we prepared for Sunday 17 September. All tours start at 10:30am and last around 2 hours each, meeting time is at 10:15 at the location indicated for each tour. The tours are organised in collaboration with the Tourist Office of Marseille.

You will be asked to sign-up for one of the options at the check-in desk the first day of the Conference, where you pick up your badge.

OPTION 1: Tour of the Panier
Meeting point: at 10:15 in front of Hôtel de Ville, Quai du Port, 13002 Marseille

10:30 to 12:30 - Maximum 50 participants
The emblematic Panier, Marseille's oldest district, can be visited by walking up the narrow streets and staircases that make it up: between history, historical anecdotes and the art of living, you can discover the first heart of the city from its origins to the present day.

OPTION 2: Visit of the 19th-century Marseille
Meeting point: at 10:15 in front of Hôtel de Ville, Quai du Port, 13002 Marseille

10:30 to 12:30 - Maximum 25 participants
From the “Canebière” to the “Noailles” district, 19th-century Marseille is revealed to its visitors.

OPTION 3: Little train, Notre Dame de la Garde circuit
Meeting point: at 10:15 at 174 Quai du port, 13002 Marseille

10:30 to 12:30 - Maximum 60 participants
Starting from the Old Port, the little train will take you up to Notre Dame de la Garde, passing along the seaside road. You will discover the forts, the “Palais du Pharo”, and “St. Victor’s Abbey”.
