A number of jazz magazines from across Europe have come together under the banner Europe Jazz Media to work on common objectives in encouraging and strengthening interest in jazz and spreading awareness of the development and diversity of the music. One of the first initiatives is the Europe Jazz Media chart: a non-sales related chart that reveals some of the hot new music surfacing across the continent right now.
Cheltenam International Jazz Fest, a member of the Europe Jazz Network, and one of UK's leading appointment of the year for jazz music, is taking place around the May bank holiday between the 29th of April and the 4th of May 2015.
The Europe Jazz Network's research project and book “The Shared Roots of European Jazz” was presented on the 25th April 2015 during a conference at the international jazz trade show jazzahead! in Bremen.
Since its inception, the Schaffhauser Jazz Festival has focussed its work on presenting each year the most innovative Swiss artists in the fields of jazz and improvised music. This year the Festival, at its 26th edition, will take place between the 6th and 9th May 2015 targeting a local as well as an international public.
The International Jazz Artist Contest "Riga Jazz Stage 2015" has concluded and laureates of both categories - "Jazz Vocal" and "Jazz Trumpet" – have been announced!
"Riga Jazz Stage 2015" took place from 9 to 11 April at cinema "Splendid Palace". This year the contest welcomed 24 young jazz talents from 13 different countries – 8 trumpeters and 16 vocalists. Each night concluded with a packed jam session at "Kaņepes Kultūras centrs" arts and music centre.
The 2015 edition of jazzahead!, the most important international jazz trade fair, will take place between the 23rd and 26th of April 2015 in Bremen, Germany. Jazzahead, a member of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN), at its 10th anniversary has become a leading meeting point for the international jazz scene and one of the most important networking spots for jazz musicians. In addition to the exhibition, it includes an integrated showcase festival, clubnights, a specific partner country's cultural programme, this year is France, and fringe events.
Trondheim Jazzfest 2015 will kick off on the 7th May 2015 with 4 days of the most innovative jazz from Scandinavia and Europe. The festival is a member of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN) and is built around the exciting jazz scene in Trondheim, Norway, and the world renowned jazzcourse at NTNU Department of Music(Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU).
The 29th April Jazz Festival will take place in Espoo, Finland, 21–26 April 2015. The Festival, a member of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN), presents some of the most prominent Finnish and international artists as well as some of rhythm music’s freshest and most interesting rising stars.
The 26th Jazzkaar festival is taking place between the 17th and 26th April 2015, brining some of the most innovative and world-class jazz in Tallinn, Estonia. Jazzkaar, a member of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN), features 10 days of great concerts on the Tallinn harbour, together with jazz awards and a urban project on the streets of the city.
On the 21st April 2015 a great evening of jazz and improvised music will take place at Cankarjev dom, the biggest culture center and event hall in Slovenia, and a member of Europe Jazz Network (EJN). The evening will see the performances of the Sidony Box trio and of Shanir Blumenkranz's Abraxas, that will perform the new album Psychomagia, from the Masada Book Two of John Zorn.
