Silva Marcos

National and international performing and recording artist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator, Marcos Silva has performed with Leny Andrade, Emilio Santiago, Marcio Montarroyos, Jon Lucien, Claudio Roditi, Viva Brasil, and many other greats. He has served as Music Director, arranger, and keyboardist for Flora Purim, Airto, Toninho Horta, Paquito D’Rivera, Bud Shank, Ricardo Silveira, Dori Caymmi, Nana Caymmi, Danilo Caymmi, Edu Lobo, and Joyce. Marcos leads his own band, Marcos Silva and Intersection, and performs regularly in the San Francisco Bay Area and elsewhere. He is the senior advisor of the Brazilian Program at the Jazzschool in Berkeley, and has introduced hundreds of students to Brazilian jazz.
