Surprising Stars: Online Music Competition

Description:
About Surprising Stars
Surprising Stars is part of Give Music a Future, co-funded by Creative Europe of the European Union. Give Music a Future promotes young musicians by enabling them to perform before diverse audiences in Europe. It aims to turn youth music competitions into interactive art experiences.

For young pop and jazz musicians
Surprising Stars online music competition is a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates from music conservatories all over Europe. Candidates can enter the competition simply by recording a surprising one-minute music video. This will give them the chance to win a solo performance with the world-leading pop and jazz orchestra the Metropole Orkest in the Netherlands! Travel costs and an additional fee will be included.

The competition is open to musicians between the ages of 16-25. They can play whatever they want within the pop and jazz genre. It can be their own music, a cover, or a jazz standard played in a surprising way. The competition is open to musicians of every instrument.

Candidates are encouraged to upload their one-minute music video to YouTube and get their tutors, friends, family, and fellow musicians to vote for them. The deadline for submitting a music video is 1 December 2017.

For further information concerning conditions and deadlines please see www.surprisingstars.com.
