Norsk Jazzforum (the Norwegian Jazz Federation) is an interest organisation which aims at connecting the Norwegian jazz scene. It aims to work for the benefit of Norwegian jazz, culturally, artistically and educationally.
It was founded in 1953, and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Norsk Jazzforum's primary aim is to spread jazz to the widest possible audience in Norway, speaking for Norwegian jazz nationally and internationally, as well as working for increased funding for Norwegian jazz. Its current membership consists of 23 jazz festivals, 61 jazz clubs, 88 big bands, 357 professional musicians and 77 jazz students. As well as its administration in Oslo, Norsk Jazzforum has 5 regional centres, based in Bodø, Trondheim, Bergen, Kristiansand and Oslo.
