Danish Jazz Federation is a non-profit organization.
The purposes of the Danish Jazz Federation are:

- to promote and support Danish jazz in Denmark and abroad
- to collect and pass on information about Danish Jazz
- to provide counselling to jazz-related projects
- to distribute government funds
- to initiate various projects with the aim of maintaining a healthy jazz environment

The activities of the Danish Jazz Federation:
There is a growing international demand for Danish jazz, and Danish musicians definitely possess the qualities necessary for international recognition. The Danish Jazz Federation works on several levels internationally. We invite foreign jazz promoters to Denmark's large jazz festivals; we visit jazz festivals in other countries to build networks and find collaborators; we initiate musician-exchange projects. We also work with the Danish Ministry of Culture on international projects which present Danish culture around the world. The Danish Jazz Federation operates with different kinds of subsidy schemes. The primary aim is to give support and aid to Danish jazz musicians, Danish jazz venues, jazz audiences and thus the whole Danish jazz scene. The Jazz Federation is primarily financed by an annual grant from the Danish Music Council. In addition the Federation raises money for specific projects from selected organizations and private sponsors.
