Composer, singer, pianist, conductor and arranger Michel Legrand born on February 4th, 1932, has celebrate his 80th “spring“ during the season 2012 & 2013 with a big world tour: United States, South America, Japan, Russia, Europe. Following the great success,the tour is extended in 2013-2014.
He is obviously the most famous French musician over the world. Great composer of movie music, his melodies inspired many cover versions by number of jazzmen: Once upon a summertime (Miles Davis), Summer of 42, I will say goodbye, What are You doing the rest of your life (Bill Evans), Watch what happens (Sarah Vaughan). Singer in the nearby register of Chet Baker - warm and fragile scat – he contributed to maintain the influence of the jazz in the French popular music.
