Jazz in Oslo coming together again

Nasjonal jazzscene in Oslo, Norway are both hopeful and excited for this coming Fall and the fantastic program we've planned for it!

Firstly, this summer we have gathered experience in producing concerts in the new reality. Over the course of eight Thursdays we've presented some fantastic Norwegian musicians playing either solo gigs or in small ensembles with the reduced audience capacity of Victoria, our re-build cinema where we reside.

Our history towards the audience is now that everyone is guaranteed a seat with more space around, heightened comfort with bar orders and payment handled on their own phone, and drinks brought through their place.  And of course implementing distancing and hygiene measurements required. This has also been a good test run for us, and we are eager for this coming season.

Oslo Jazz festival holds most of their concerts at our place this year, starting 13th of August. Their program can be found here: https://oslojazz.no

Our season starts with Ola Kvernbergs Steamdome III on Friday 28th and John Pål Inderberg Trio Saturday 29th of August. The program follows with great Norwegian and Scandinavian names like Brunborg/Jormin/Strønen, Tord Gustavsen Trio, Solveig Slettahjell Quartet, Daniel Herskedal Ensemble, Moskus (releasing their new "Live at Victoria" album!).

We are hosting a two day celebration of Nils Petter Molvær turning 60, before more concerts with great musicians and bands like Erlend Apneseth Trio with Frode Haltli, Hegge, Eple Trio, Eyolf Dale Trio, Susanna, Mathias Eick and the wonderful Maria Kannegaard Trio. We are hopeful for the concerts with European bands like Carsten Dahl Trinity, Sinne Eeg and Punkt.vrt.Plastik and really crossing our fingers for the US bands like Becca Stevens and Bill Frisell Trio. Full program you will find here: https://nasjonaljazzscene.no/arrangement

Jazz and new music lovers in the Oslo area will have lot's to be looking forward to these coming months!
