Adam Makowicz, 77, is one the few living piano virtuosos in the tradition of Art Tatum, Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson. «Swinging Ivories», recorded live for Polish Radio at Witold Lutoslawski Concert Hall in Warsaw last November, it is Makowicz’s first new album in almost ten years. It features his own original compositions as well as standards from the Great American Songbook, displaying his stunnig virtuosity, lyrical touch and invention.
