The Danish Jazz Competition is up for another round

The Danish Jazz Competition just announced their open-call for 2021. The aim of the project is to discover new talents and provide them with tools, knowledge and experiences that will help them with their future endeavors in the jazz music industry. During the competition, the participants will play at some of the best venues in Denmark and prior to the finale, the finalists will have the opportunity to record new material, receive coaching on their performance, and be played on the national jazz radio channel - P8 Jazz.

The finale is held on May 8, at the legendary Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen.

Since winning The Danish Jazz Competition in 2019, Svaneborg Kardyb has won two awards at the Danish Music Awards for Jazz, been on a sold-out tour throughout Denmark, and participated at Nordic Jazz Comets. The winner of the 2020 edition, Emil Savery Trio, is currently working on the trio's debut release.
