Musica sulle Bocche Jazz Festival, organized by Jana Project, scheduled in Santa Teresa Gallura (Sardinia) from August 23rd to 26th, is pleased to present the official image of the 18th edition.
After the works of illustrators such as Igor Tuveri, Toni Demuro, Bogdan Lupescu, the series of artistic posters continues with George Underwood, visionary British artist, a friend of David Bowie and author of the covers of some of his albums, such as "Hunky Dory" and "Ziggy Stardust ", which established him as a leading and creative art illustrator.
David Bowie wrote about him: "George has, over the years, refined his work to the point where I would put him among the top figurative painters coming out of the UK right now..There's a sublime isolation surrounding his subjects and that really touches the viewer, the figures being both heroic and vulnerable simultaneously". Tha artwork "Profile of a marked man" (oils on canvas, 2003) has been chosen by the director Enzo Favata to represent the 18th edition of the festival, which has always been characterised by the intertwining of different cultures and musical styles.
Musica sulle Bocche is supported by the Municipality of Santa Teresa Gallura, the Region of Sardinia, the Foundation of Sardinia. The line up will be presented in April.
