Intl Jazz Platform is a first of its kind project in Poland, which gathers the best creative jazz musicians. The faculty includes artists known for their international achievements on international jazz scene as well as their openness and improvisational skills. Participation in the platform is a professional and educational breakthrough for many students. First class infrastructure for music creation provided by Wytwórnia and the great faculty representing the top European improvised jazz scene make the time spent here a unique experience on a personal and professional level.

This year we are going to meet for the 7th time! Once again, the best European jazz musicians will come to Poland and work with international faculty. This edition will be unique because of many reasons. New faculty members are joining are team – representatives of world’s top improvised jazz scene. Moreover, thanks to the partnership in European project Jazz Connective special seminars, workshops, concerts and meetings with promoters will take place this year in Łódź.

This year’s faculty members are world renown musicians who are going to share their knowledge and experience with 40 selected students. We are especially proud that MARIUS NESET, powerful and inventive saxophone player from Norway and JOHN ESCREET, British pianist and composer, considered one of the most talented and innovative pianists of his generation, will join this year’s faculty team. Moreover, VERNERI POHJOLA one of the Finnish most creative trumpet players, JIM BLACK, the most influential drummer of our time and INGEBRIGT HAKER FLATEN, one of the most important performers of his instrument in the avant-jazz and improvised music world, know from such bands like The Thing or Atomic, will take part in the 7th edition of Intl Jazz Platform.

Last, but not least, we’ve invited a particularly interesting trio for the special concert:

ENEMY spotlights three brilliant and creative musical minds: Kit Downes on piano, Petter Eldh on double bass and James Maddren on drums, committed to the exploration of new worlds of performance and music: total music, with each musician contributing equally in an authentic aesthetic display.

In 2019 Intl Jazz Platform is a part of European project Jazz Connective co-financed by the European Union within Creative Europe programme, whose objective is to, among others, increase the competences of young musicians on European markets. Jazz Connective means special seminars, workshop and meetings with promoters (festival directors from Poland and abroad) as well as special concert of artists from partner countries. During Intl Jazz Platform we will have a chance to listen to a French band MONA with charismatic leader Elodie Pasquier on bass clarinet, Slovenian pianist Kaja Draksler in her solo project and Polish super band Piotr Damasiewicz Power of the Horns.

Intl Jazz Platform aims at becoming one of the most important educational initiatives in Europe, which motives for further development, respects and encourages diversity, offers inspirational conditions for work and, above all, guarantees a great artistic time.

It provides an opportunity for musicians to meet, share their experiences, establish international contacts and learn from each other. The core aspect of the scheme is a partnership relation between students and members of faculty. We would like to continue departing from the master-student approach to artistic education by providing an opportunity for students to play and create music, share ideas, spend time together. Intl Jazz Platform is a much needed bridge between study-time and professional life.
