2006 London International Jazz Competition for Vocalists

2006 London International Jazz Competition for Vocalists As one of the key centres of Jazz it is perhaps surprising that London has never been host to an International Jazz Competition. 2006 will see an important and exciting new event in the Jazz calendar - the first annual London International Jazz Competition to be held at the prestigious Cadogan Hall (www.cadoganhall.com) The competition is open to vocalists worldwide, across the entire jazz spectrum, aged 18 years and over. The panel of judges will be chosen from eminent names in the Jazz world and three of the most accomplished UK Jazz musicians will accompany the artists in the two staged heats, namely Pete Churchill, Jeff Clyne and Trevor Tomkins. Travel and accommodation for the twelve semi-finalists will be provided by the Competition organiser.The semi-final and final will be attended by members of the press, music industry, eminent musicians and the listening public.   The Competition will take place from 18th to 22nd March 2006.
