Charlie Haden began the MISSOURI SKY project by gathering together a series of songs that would tell stories of the Midwest, of the people who make up the heart of America and of the vast heartland itself.
Working with Pat Metheny, a fellow Missourian, the two have created a program of unforgettable aural landscapes. The album won a Grammy Award for "Best Jazz Instrumental Performance."
