| Brussels Jazz Orchestra International Composition Contest 2006 In 2006 the Brussels Jazz Orchestra organises, in co-operation with Jazz Hoeilaart, a new edition of the BJO International Composition Contest. On June 16th 2006, all candidate composers must have sent their compositions to the secretariat responsible for the contest. After the first selections, a maximum of 4 laureates will be allowed to join the finals. On Thursday 21st of September 2006 the Brussels Jazz Orchestra will then perform each of these compositions and an international jury will elect the final winner of the “Brussels Jazz Orchestra International Composition Contest”, who will receive the “BJO Award”, a cash price worth 1500 EUR and a professional recording of the composition. Moreover, the candidate composers can also compete for the “Price of the Audience”. The composition awarded with the “Brussels Jazz Orchestra International Composition Contest“ will be recorded on CD. The age limit of candidate participants is 40 years.
