Seeking FRENCH Musician(s) for USA Grant Collaboration| Musicians proposals | 2005-10-03 |
| Hello! We are a "beyond jazz" group in New York City and we are looking for FRENCH musicians -- that is, French citizens or legal residents of France for at least the past 5 years -- for possible collaboration under a grant administered by Chamber Music America in New York. The ideal musician will be someone who plays in an ensemble in France, who would like to come to the USA to perform with us. We might also go to France, or both. The grants are up to USA$10,000 and include performance fees. Any instrument welcome, sorry no vocalists/singers. We are flute, guitar, bass and drums, so horns, keyboards/piano, percussion would be of greatest interest to us. However, we have an award-winning composer in our group and he can write or adapt music for any instrument combination. We are more interested in finding the right person. The music permitted with the grant is very wide-ranging and includes new classical compositions, electronic instruments, very creative, NOT just traditional jazz sound (e.g. Art Blakey, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington), although that's OK too. We are required to perform some music by American composers. You should have samples of your playing on the web somewhere so we can listen. Your can hear/see us at http://www.nationalboulevard.com (which is currently being redesigned) and http://www.sonicbids.com/nationalboulevard. Please VISIT our websites before responding because if you hate our music, collaboration will not work very well! :) You should be williing and able to travel to the USA, be professional in your behavior when playing music, be pleasant to work with, have solid performance experience, and be able to communicate in English. We will take care of all the forms to be filled out, but we will need your biographical statement. Thank you for reading! Please send email to info@nationalboulevard.com. Please include your telephone number and information about you. |
