MARINA FIORENTINI presents her latest live project titled "Unexpected String", also recorded in an unusual album + dvd, respectively recorded in Brazil and in New York.
"Unexpected String" is an amazing project of avant-garde jazz, a total musical message that has its roots in the New York scene of which Marina has been protagonist and integral part for so many years.
Avant-jazz (the acronym of avant-garde jazz) is a musical style mainly based on jazz improvisation combined with elements of composition of contemporary avant-garde music.
Among the "historical" names of the jazz avant-garde scene (John Coltrane in the "free" period, Evan Parker, Sun Ra, to mention a few), S
un Ra is the musician who mostly inspired Marina Fiorentini.
On the occasion of her return to Italy, Marina Fiorentini has added to her repertoire some original compositions.
