For his new project, bassist Pierluigi Balducci relies on the collaboration of John Taylor, Paul McCandless and Michele Rabbia. The great English pianist, like the historic Californian saxophonist and oboist and the Italian drummer-percussionist, share the overtly 'romantic' approach of the leader. In fact, about BLUE FROM HEAVEN, the CD just recorded for the Dodicilune label, Balducci speaks of "... dreams recounted with notes, visionary songs to listen to with your eyes closed, windows towards an 'elsewhere' of sounds and silence". The result is a project with unmistakable power of suggestion and strong evocative impact, in which we find the usual lyrical compositions of the bassist in balanced tension between Writing and Improvisation.
