Michel Legrand
Composer, singer, pianist, conductor and arranger Michel Legrand
born on February 4th, 1932, has celebrate his 80th “spring“ during
the season 2012 & 2013 with a big world tour: United States,
South America, Japan, Russia, Europe. Following the great
success, the tour is extended in 2013-2014. He will perform
4th of December 2012 at the Palais des Congrès, Paris. He
is obviously the most famous French musician over the world. Great
composer of movie music, his melodies inspired many cover versions
by number of jazzmen: Once upon a summertime (Miles Davis), Summer
of 42, I will say goodbye, What are You doing the rest of your
life (Bill Evans), Watch what happens (Sarah Vaughn). Singer in
the nearby register of Chet Baker - warm and fragile scat – he
contributed to maintain the influence of the jazz in the French
popular music.
Michel Legrand performs in piano trio, in duet piano / harp with
his wife Catherine Michel, or with jazz big band or with symphony
orchestra.
