It’s a combination that results in an intimate music, where Portuguese identity is strengthened by national poetry.
The band, initially formed by Luis Varatojo (Portuguese guitar), João Aguardela (Bass), Paulo Martins (Drums) and Maria Antonia Mendes (voice) changed in 2010 after a year of mourning for Aguardela’s death.
Nowadays the group includes Luis Varatojo (Portuguese guitar), Sandra Baptista (Bass), Samuel Palitos (drums) and Maria Antonia Mendes (voice).
The band released their first album “Canções Subterrâneas/Subterranean songs” in 2004, which was acclaimed by the critics and the public .
In 2006 the second album “3 minutos para a mare encher / 3 minutes before the rising tide“ gave them wider recognition. In 2008 the band released a third album named “Pequena Inclinação para o mal/ An innocent inclination towards evil”.
In 2010 a book of memories that included a DVD was released, setting a new phase of the band’s life.
2012 revealed a new and sharper NAIFA. A new album was released . The first original without João Aguardela is named “não se deitam comigo corações obedientes/ no obedient hearts lay with me”
