Stars shine at three nights of Bohemia Jazz Fest Mike Stern leads hot lineup at Bohemia Jazz Fest

 

Bohemia Jazz Fest kicks off in regal style in Wallenstein Gardens, with Czech trumpeter and JazzPrix winner Miroslav Hloucal and The Baker Suite from Australia. And that’s just a warm-up for two sizzling nights of jazz on Old Town Square. On Wednesday, local favorite František Kop warms up the crowd for legendary jazz guitarist Mike Stern, playing with an all-star quartet that includes bass superstar Richard Bona, drummer Dave Weckl and sax player Bob Franceschini. Thursday brings a tasty international menu: Pantoum, a piano quartet from Dresden; Artvark, an exciting Dutch saxophone group; and LLAMA, a mesmerizing world music duo featuring Spanish singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Israeli percussionist Ravid Goldschmidt.
