EXPERIENCE VOL. 2
Plays Jimi hendrix

The legendary World Saxophone Quartet’s experience sheds a brilliant new light on the music of the visionary guitarist and composer : Jimi Hendrix. Following the success of the 1st volume, the WSQ will be recording a volume #2, and will be on tour in 2012 !

ON TOUR OCTOBER 2012
October 16-28, 2012

The legendary World Saxophone Quartet was born more than thirty years ago - in 1977 to be precise. Members are Hamiet Bluiett (baryton saxophone, alto clarinette), David Murray (tenor saxophone, bass clarinette), Oliver Lake (alto & soprano saxophones), and since Julius Hemphill (alto et soprano saxophone, flute) left, alternately James Carter or Tony Kofi  is replacing him.

They are also joined, depending on current tours and other projetcs, by several other musicians.
The quartet is covering and reinterpreting some of the most well-known Jimi Hendrix's classics, and will be on stage joined by Ranzell Merritt on drums and Jamaaladeen Tacuma on bass-guitar.
