Jazz&Sounds celebrates creative music in from November 17 untill 19 2011.

Be prepared for some unique cutting edge concerts: intense, introspective, unchained or roaring. No mainstream on the menu, this festival prefers the unpredictable rapids of improvisation and the meandering path were the musicians will lead us looking for the confrontation between genres and disciplines. The starting point might be jazz, contemporary music or avant garde. Jazz&Sounds Festival is the journey that springs from it.

Jazz&Sounds presents, amongst others: Satoko Fujii, Esa Pietela, Henry Threadgill, Hermeto Pascoal, Electric Barbarian, the Jazz Plays Europe Project with Christian Mendoza, Egberto Gismoti (in cooperation with Europalia.Brazil), Lisa Cay Miller, Audrey Chen, RobinVerheyen and many more.

This festival is a cooperation between actors with a very different approach to but similar love for improvisational and creative music: Gent Jazz Festival, Arts Center Vooruit, De Bijloke Music Centre and the Music Conservatory of Ghent.
