Jazz Spring Season 2011

Jazz this Spring has an international dimension. Travelling from furthest afield are Australian trio Trichotomy who showcase their Antipodean sound. The American contingent includes trumpeter Abram Wilson paying homage to Gershwin, and legendary saxophonist Joe Lovano with his US Five group. New York bassist Ben Allison gives an exclusive UK gig and the jazz double bill of UK talent is also a Turner Sims production. Soweto Kinch visits twice including a big project in Southampton Guildhall. Finally the European element comes from trumpeter Paolo Fresu, who appears with American guitarist Ralph Towner, and Swedish singer Viktoria Tolstoy who explores her Russian roots.
