Tampere Jazz Happening 2010 - Breaks Attendance Records

Gathering thousands of people, yet again Tampere Jazz Happening broke its attendance record. It is estimated that the final visitor amount will be around 9900. The concerts at Telakka were sold out, as was Mulatu Astatke’s concert at Klubi. The star of the festival, the British bassist, Dave Holland played to a sold out venue at the Old Customs House Hall. The average filling degree of the concerts was 90 %.

Tampere Jazz Happening of this year was 29^th in line, and during the four days it presented 23 international jazz bands in venues of Pakkahuone hall, the night club Klubi and the arts restaurant Telakka. Known for its excellent program and warm atmosphere, Tampere Jazz Happening has carved its name on stone, among the most acclaimed jazz festivals in Europe. The festival is produced by Tampere Music Festival organization, which is a part of Tampere City Cultural Services.

Next year - in 2011 - Tampere Jazz Happening is celebrating its 30th Anniversary!
