New Conversations – Vicenza Jazz festival is ready for a new edition, the fifteenth of its history, which will be held in Vicenza (Italy) from May 7th to 15th and will include several original productions, exclusive concerts and special projects alongside the most dreamed of bands of today jazz scene.

The programme will include dozens of concerts, taking place in the theatres and in several magnificent historical settings of the famous town of Palladio, such as the wonderful Teatro Olimpico, the oldest non-open air theatre of the world. The musicians and bands already announced will make Vicenza Jazz 2010 an exceptional event: Bobby McFerrin, Incognito, Benny Golson, Kenny Garrett, Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, McCoy Tyner, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Roy Haynes, Chuck Israels, Jeff Ballard, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Francesco Cafiso and one of the most renowned and histrionic Italian rock-stars, Elio, involved in a new jazz orchestral setting of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.

Vicenza Jazz 2010 will be dedicated to the celebration of French jazz. Many French musicians will therefore perform at the festival: Richard Galliano (with a special project involving a full string orchestra), Reanud Garcia-Fons, Michel Benita, Henri Texier, Géraldine Laurent, Aldo Romano. Other special musical projects will be dedicated to French culture, such as singer Barbara Casini's homage to Charles Trenet and pianist Rita Marcotulli's multimedia concert based on François Truffaut's movie La famme d'à côté.

The programme announced so far makes already for a huge festival edition, but many more concerts are yet to come. Many other musical events will be held all around Vicenza: in the streets and squares, in churches and historical buildings.

Such a huge and composite programme is made possible thanks to the contribution of several partners: the town of Vicenza, Veneto region, Italian Ministry of Culture, Trivellato - Mercedes Benz, Aim.
