Piano music knows no limits. That's why Piano Off-Stage, the summit meeting of jazz pianism, deserves a spot in Lucerne's November festival. But this 'festival within a festival' embraces an entire cosmos of styles and approaches: the ten musicians we've invited this year are masters of boogie-woogie and free jazz, blues and ragtime, swing and soul. Granted, their arena is not the Salle Blanche in Lucerne's KKL Concert and Convention Centre, but they play in the city's loveliest hotels and cocktail lounges.
