EJN Administrator | Agency proposals | 2009-02-20

Dear  Sirs,

I'm addressing to you as agent of a group  in the area of the improvised music, for more than twenty years, under the name of Ficções (Fictions) with Rui Luís Pereira (Dudas) as leader. He  performed countless times around the country and abroad (some information is displayed in the curriculum that accompanies this letter).

We are very interested in our participation in your festival so that we can show our music internationally in order to give us a wider international exhibition.

I now send you a small curriculum of the project (below), where you also can find information about some of our performances and other information that may help you in the appreciation of this work. If you find it necessary I can later send you, by post, our latest CD and further information.

So I invite you to hear some music that can be found in indicated site and, if you find it possible, we would be very pleased and honored to be a part of your festival since that would be a benefit for us in several ways considering that one of our main goals is, among others, to have the chance to present our music internationally.

Pls visite :   www.myspace.com/rlpdudas

Thank you for your attention and all the successes for your festival in the name of the group, Ficções, and myself.

 Dudas

This project, under the name of Ficções (fictions), founded by Rui Luís Pereira, guitarist and composer, goes back for almost two decades, therefore being one of ancient groups in the “area” of the improvised music in our country.

To define this music, we could say that, beyond the natural influences of Jazz in what concerns improvisation, we can feel also a Mediterranean flavour composed of several “mixtures”-- Iberian, African, Arab-Andalusian echoes and an Atlantic glimpse compose this “imaginary folklore”.
