Pianist/composer Lynne Arriale began studying music at age four, eventually earning a master's degree in piano performance before turning to jazz. Her trio now performs internationally and celebrates its tenth anniversary with Come Together, its ninth CD release. Come Together is already besting the wide critical acclaim of their previous CD, Arise, which hit #17 on Billboard, #1 on UPI's Best Jazz CDs '03, and along with its predecessor, Inspiration, reached #1 on national jazz radio, #1 in New Yorker Magazine's Best CDs '03 and won that year's German Record Critics Award. Appearances on national media include PBS-TV's “Profile of a Performing Artist,” CNN/ FN' Biz, NPR's Piano Jazz with Marion McPartland, Weekend Edition, Jazz Set, Weekend Edition and NPR's Jazz Piano Christmas - Live from The Kennedy Center in '03 and '04. Arriale also won the 1993 Great American Jazz Competition and toured Japan with “100 Golden Fingers”, a group including piano legends Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan, Kenny Barron, Harold Mabern, Junior Mance, Monty Alexander, Roger Kellaway, Ray Bryant and Cedar Walton.
This past year, the Lynne Arriale Trio played numerous concerts and festivals on tours throughout the U.S. and Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, The Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, England, Ireland and Scotland. The trio's previous CDs include, Live at Montreux (recorded live at Switzerland's 1999 Montreux Jazz Festival); Melody, A Long Road Home, With Words Unspoken, When You Listen, and The Eyes Have It.
