Born
on December 5th, 1967 in Amandola (AP) I.
Began as a little child to study music under the guidance of his
grandfather, a clarinet teacher.
Approached various instruments. Abandoned music studies for a few
years, while continueing to nurse a great passion for the drums.
His other great passion for painting brought him to attend the
Art School, where he met M° Pende, who had an important role in
his life, spurring him on not only in art but also other
endeavours.
At age 17, his interest returned to music; in '94 he obtained a
diploma in percussion at the Conservatory. During these years, he
participated in jam sessions with Irio De Paula, Zč Galią,
Stefano Taglietti, Stan Haywood, Johnny Melville, Tina Grace and
later Maurizio Giammarco, Paolo Fresu, Furio di Castri
As a
percussionist, he collaborated in Afrodance training with Marina
Petani. In '91 he participated in the "Cittą di
Recanati" award with F.Cassio and F. De Laura. He
collaborated with con Karl Potter, Peppe Consolmagno, Massimo Manzi, Geoff Warren, Roberto
Piermartire, Renzo Ruggirei
and performed in a percussion
ensemble under the direction of Maurizio Benomar.
In '94 won Arezzo Wave competition with Corradini Trio.
In '95 had a demo-tour all over Italy for KORG (Wave Drums).
In '95 toured Italy, Switzerland and Argentina.
In '96 performed at RAI TRE SUITE and recorded a CD of improvised
music with bandoneonist and pianist Daniele Di Bonaventura, reviewed by the most authoritative
Japanese magazine in this field: the SWING JOURNAL in Tokyo.
In '98 teached percussion instruments for a course funded by the
EC at C.S. Design in Ancona.
Currently, besides the teaching activity, he is collaborating in
Duo with Daniele Di Bonaventura, performing at various Italian
and European festivals, with Rita Botto (Ethnea), Felice Del
Gaudio Group, Tiziano Popoli and Geoff Warren for films scoring,
Franco Morone Trio and Mauro De Federicis Quartet.
He also played with CARLA BLEY and STEVE SWALLOW (Fancy Chamber Music) at the VERONA JAZZ 2000
festival.
