Wolfgang Lackerschmid belongs to the leading vibists and important creators in Jazz and beyond. Since the middle seventies, he performes live and on more than 100 records, with legendary musicians like Chet Baker, Attila Zoller, Lee Konitz, Larry Coryell, Buster Williams, Paquito D´Rivera or the "Vibraphon Summit". Wolfgang Lackerschmid studied composition and percussion, and composed numerous songs and Jazz - tunes, which became part of the regular repertoire by many musicians. Besides that, he wrote also concert - music for orchestra, choir, percussionensemble and many other formations, as well as music for TV, radio and film. Frequently he works for several european Theaters as composer of music for plays, musicals and balletts. 1990 he received the cultural award „Bayerischer Staatsförderpreis für Kultur“ from the state Bavaria. Besides all those activities, you‘ll always find him touring with some excellend live - projects.
