MUSICIANS
LOST TRIBE

Official website: http://www.datamania.com/losttribe

Lost Tribe started playing together in New York City in 1989. Over the course of the next couple of years the band began to play extensively in the N.Y. area as well as in the rest of the U.S., in Canada and in Europe. The music evolved and developed into a strong, distinctive, individual style.
The musicians in Lost Tribe (Adam Rogers - guitar, David Binney - alto saxophone, Fima Ephron - bass and Ben Perowsky - drums) are influenced by a broad spectrum of music and they bring this diversity to their very unique and personal group sound. The band has nine years of experience together and continues to evolve and develop in a way that only comes with time.

Aside from the bands' years of playing as a group, the members of Lost Tribe have a wide variety of experiences recording and performing with other artists and projects, such as The Brecker Brothers, Walter Becker, Uri Caine, Dave Douglas, Bill Evans, Gil Scott Heron, The Lounge Lizards, John Medeski, Natalie Merchant, James Moody, Screaming Headless Torsoes, Ed Simon, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Mike Stern and Cassandra Wilson, among others.

As one can hear from their music, Lost Tribe has incorperated their diverse experiences into an organic approach compositionally and improvisationally that defies categorization.

Lost Tribe has recorded three CDs; two of which were released on Windham Hill records; Lost Tribe produced by Walter Becker of Steely Dan and Soulfish, self produced.
Their latest CD for Arabesque records, entitled Many Lifetimes was released in March 1998.
