| Born in 1936 in Waterbury, Connecticut, in ealier age
he was initiated in
listening music by his father. Joe Diorio, 13 years old, began to play
guitar. In the ealier 60s he recorded his first album, Exodus To Jazz, with
Eddie Harris. Followed others recordings with Benny Green, Monty Budwig,
Sonny Stitt and Ira Sullivan, and moreover tours and concerts with Stan
Getz, Freddie Hubbard and Stanley Turrentine - between New York, Chicago,
Las Vegas and Miami, where he teached Jazz Improvisation at the University,
and Europe. Diorio is one of the most experienced American teachers,
teaching at the famous GIT (Guitar Institute of Technology) in Los Angeles,
one of the most important centers of guitar didactis. Full-time teacher,
Diorio enumerated hundreds guitarists between his student, receiving
incredible agreements among his colleagues. |
