Born under the sign of musicality and rhythm owners of talent and professionalism, this ensemble of young ladies decided to create SON DAMAS after their school graduation in 1992. Since their first performances, they began to break the expectations created around them, due to their master behaviour on stage, quickly becoming an interest for producers all around. These "Ladies" caused the rebirth one of the most genuine genres of cuban popular music: EL SON. National celebrity José Luis Cortés, NG la Banda leader, kept an eye and ear on the ladies since their launching. Some of their hits in Cuba and abroad "Se me va, se me va" and "17 y 48" were penned by Cortés himself. A well selected repertoire that includes straight ahead cuban standards, boleros, chachachà, rumbas, plus salsa show musical spectrum. Dalia Prada pianist and bandleader is also a composer whose creations have made hundreds of fans vibrate. The Ladies, entered talent shows and entertained at local clubs as "Marina Hemingway", "El Palacio de la Salsa" at Riviera Hotel, "Casa de la Música" and "Tropicana Cabaret" all in Cuba. In 1992, they were asked to join the RCN Exhibit at Colombia "Las Americas gran Show" where they shared stage with who at the time were among the most popular bands in America, "Las Chicas del Can", "Oscar D'Leon" and "Wilfrido Vargas". Two years later, they flew to Greece, where ballrooms and discoteques of various cities received them warmly, filled with an audience that clapped theis songs and rejoiced the appealing Cuban rhythms. As everything was delivered with an impeccable pitch and soulful timing, they were invited to "Sevent 7 x Music" TV Show recorded in the Athens Acropolis. 1994 also found "The Ladies" in a wonderful season in Spain. Some of their hits have been included in the CD Cien Lindas Cubanas (One hundred beautiful Cubans) recorded live together with other female bands with Network from Germany. In September 1995 "The Ladies" were invited to participate in "Miss Mexico TV Show" recorded in the most important theater in Mexico City. During 1995 they were invited to their first summer tour that began in the Pole Pole Festival of Belgium and later The World Roots Festival in Holland plus some other German venues. In December countinued their trend and found themselves in demand of the European auditoriums, returning for magic seasons to the countries mentioned before and including Switzerland and Austria where they performed in front of crowded auditoriums, lovers of salsa music and the most reputed stars of this genre.
