MEDIAWAVE Film and Music Festival is the gathering scene of international competition and non-competiton film programmes, it gives place for contemporary, jazz, folk and alternative music concerts, photo and fine art exhibitions, drama and dance performances.

Our geographical borderline situation gives us a chance to consciously mediate between the artistic movements of the East and the West - still rather isolated from each other. Our purpose is not to unify them, but to expose local values and characteristics.

Besides inviting artists of world-wide reputation, we take care of presenting and educating young talents as well.

THE MUSIC FESTIVAL
The music programme shows a huge variety in styles: from improvisative and jazz through ethno to alternative - though the main concept is common in each of them: to introduce the modern movements parallelly with the traditionally archaic forms on the field of music.

THE FILM FESTIVAL
In the film programme we prefer films that are excluded from the traditional structure of distribution, thus they are rarely shown in cinemas and television, and we especially welcome art-works with themes appropriate to the profile of the festival.

THE WORKSHOPS
MEDIAWAVE International Film and Music Festival has made efforts to be rather an active festival, thus we have been organizing international youth film, photo and music workshops for young participants all around the world since 2006.
